ULTIMATE GOAL: To provide a
staffed facility where those who have no home can reside
and receive support services.
DATE
ORGANIZATION FORMED: August 1997
WORK
IN PROGRESS: Although still in infancy,
Safe Haven volunteers are already making a substantial
impact on AIDS/HIV impacted individuals needing clothing,
food and transportation to a location where housing
could be obtained. As stated above, volunteers have
already spoken to over 2000 individuals at schools,
churches, and civic groups. Our biggest need presently
is for funds to continue providing nutritious foods
through our pantry delivery system and funds for seed
money for a building to accommodate the 225 people that
we currently serve.
RESOURCES:
Since Safe Haven is a 501(c)(3) organization, it relies
completely on charitable donations and gifts. Safe Haven
maintains a Clothes Closet and Food Pantry. A strict
policy of confidentiality is maintained at Safe Haven's
facility under all circumstances.
COUNSELING:
Safe Haven will arrange for counseling for HIV/AIDS
affected clients on a case-by-case basis.
